ALL-ON-4®

When you have suffered tooth loss, whether that has been due to disease or perhaps to an accident then considering dental implants for the full mouth maybe a very welcome solution to the problem.

The all on 4 or all on 6 dental implant treatment are the two options for treatment that is often called teeth in a day.

this treatment addresses a problem for anyone who has multiple missing teeth and can address the problem in just one day by replacing upper and lower arch teeth.

Replacement is accomplished with a fixed bridge attached to your dental implants.

This treatment is particularly popular because a patient will not have to go without teeth for anytime at all because the entire treatment is delivered in just one day.

For those for whom it is important that they experience the least impact on their life, speech and diet it can be the perfect solution.

What are the benefits?

  • The first step is to carefully plan the treatment with your dentist so that your new teeth can be fitted on the same day and your new smile produced after only a few hours.

  • The arch, or the entire set of teeth are supported by just 4 implants with the cost advantage over the alternative of eight to ten implants.

  • This solution to missing teeth is the closest you will ever get to having your own teeth back again.

  • Longer implants will often be applied for those who have less bone and will avoid the necessity of bone grafting.

  • Of course dental implants will require maintenance and proper care but unlike caring for dentures problems of wearing out be coming loose slipping or causing friction on the gums will not be issues that need to be dealt with.

  • The treatment is very fast, providing results in the same day.

  • These solutions can be effective for cases that are more complex for which previously no such solution would have been possible.

All-on-4® dental implants are both functionally and aesthetically indistinguishable from natural teeth.

The Procedure

Before any treatment is started , we will examine you thoroughly to ensure that there is sufficient bone mass to provide an anchor for the posts.

At this point it may be necessary for you to have X-rays or CT scans to obtain the required information.

Having either all-on-4 or 6 dental implants is the procedure that will succeed due to the in-depth planning and work that is done before the young implants are applied.

Before you have the procedure, a model of your teeth, or how your teeth used to be, will be made and can be improved and adjusted as you require.

  • Once the procedure starts, the dentist will make small cuts into the gums for the titanium posts to be introduced through.
  • At this point, a set of temporary teeth will be fitted to the implant.
  • Once the dentist is satisfied that the bone has regenerated and that the wounds caused by the incisions are healed, treatment can go ahead.
  • The final prosthesis will be attached after around 4-6 months.

Care After Implant

Caring for your newly inserted implants is not difficult.

You will continue to clean with a normal standard toothbrush and to floss your teeth.

You will be instructed fully on how to care for your new implanted teeth.

You will also need to come for regular check-ups, so that the dentist can check your mouth and that the implants are all fine.

No we will make sure that you do not suffer pain.

After the treatment is complete you may have some redness and swelling and discomfort but both treatment for all on 4 and or all on 6 treatments will be virtually pain free.

Any discomfort will be gone in a couple of days.

You may lisp a little to begin with but most ‘all on’ patients return to normal within a few days.

There is an initial consultation with thorough examination.

Then everything is done in at one appointment even if the patient does need to have teeth extracted.

It will all be be over in one day and you will be able to go home with your great new teeth and smile.

The figures for All-on-4® dental implant procedures carried out in the UK is around 98.3% for lower teeth and around 98% for upper teeth.
